Blog#4 Stop Violence against women

“Ending Violence Against Women”

For this blog I have decided to choose the option two the article that talking about “Ending Violence Against Women” since this topic has always appeal me, I decided to read the article and watch the video. Both options the article and the video were unfortunate with all the estimation rates that been estimated among women globally.  I will be talking about the article which spoke about the various forms of violence against women globally.
The estimation rate is very unfortunate because seeing that higher rates of women that been physical or sexual intimate partner violence or sexual violence by a non-partner (not including sexual harassment) at some point in their lives. According to the article is up than 70% of women been women have experienced physical or sexual violence from an intimate partner in their lifetime. Evidence shows that women who have experienced physical or sexual intimate partner violence report higher rates of depression, having an abortion and acquiring HIV, compared to women who have not. (www.unwomen.org, ending-violence-against-women).
The statement is very hard to think or even believe that it’s still higher rate of women in the world who still struggling from the violence in the world, especially the Middle East countries and North Africa. I believe that the higher number still estimated increasing cases and in the peak rates due to most of these cases never been reported. The Article also was given very good example of the reason why some regions or some countries in the world witnessing the higher rates than the other countries because in Lebanon the likelihood of perpetrating physical violence was more than three times higher among men who had witnessed their fathers beating their mothers during childhood than those who did not.
Violence against women in general is a grave violation of human rights. Its impact ranges from immediate to long-term multiple physical, sexual and mental consequences for women for their career and future and contribute women’s death.
The violence is not affected women’s bodies physically or mentally but will affect a whole entire society and the future of the society too, because will impact on families and may destroy family and children. All women have the right to live in free from any sort of violence and limit all the higher rate cases to be lower or even disappeared globally by educating women to call for their human rights and improve the quality of life.
The article put the light on the violence against women and the inequality among women. In order to improve the quality of women’s life and to decrease the higher estimation of violence that been estimated and recorded against women. I Know there is so many organizations that calling for women rights and each woman should live free from violence but I believe it should be plans that enforce with governments to develop the regulations and strengthening coordination to encourage women to report violence cases against them and they have the power to improve the their quality of life and live in the society where have free violence to live in.

STRESS

Blog#3

STRESS

For this blog I decided to choose the option#3 STRESS, I visited American Institute of Stress website and I also read the 50 signs and symptoms that most people could have but they never realize they are so stressed.
This topic is always appeal me for so many reasons, one of the main reasons how people are neglecting the cause of stress may result to sever cases of mental health. I do believe we all know how bad the mental health can be if we didn’t treat or focus or at be more knowledgeable about the stressors . Last semester for my Program Planning class, our group decided to pick topic about stress, and we decided to go not just for students but people between 35-45,  at Dallas county. We were all socked from the data that we picked, and we decided to interview different people from different type of workplaces and backgrounds. Typically speaking, each ten people that we interviewed we had at lease three people who suffering from stress and they even did not know the signs they already been mentioned are considered one of the most factors for stress and anxiety.  I personally was very supervised to see how much pressure people can have without even knowing the upcoming sequences.
If we define the term stress, we may say it is the situation that triggers particular or biological response. When you perceive a threat or a major challenge, chemicals and hormones surge throughout your body. I do understand stress can anyone suffer from due to the type of environment that we live now but it should be temporary biologically after we passed the fight-flight moments and more manageable.
How much manageable can be I think this is the most real-life concept that most people stack to survive from. As I mentioned earlier can affect our body physically and emotionally. Most of sever cases may scaled to be one of the factors towards depression and anxiety.
I can identify my top three stressors can be my education and far I want to accomplish and how far I can be towards my advanced degree. My family/my children, I’m always worried about my children and their future what I can do to make them be successful people. Finally, my future job especially I currently after my graduation I will practice different career is totally different what I at now. Therefore; I have to work hard and make a good successful plan to make myself in position where I will be ready to handle a new career. I do believe overthinking and don’t find the appropriate method to get rid of or mange can be one of the main contribution’s factors may cause to stress.
My theory in life is if I need to make difference, I have to work harder / my best to value a new position I wanted to be. Nothing comes easy but with hard work nothing is impossible. The most coping mechanism that I always do when I feel I’m so stressful and I do need to do something. I usually practice yoga and take deep breath, meditation and play guitar.
Music can change my mood especially if I decided to play guitar with my husband that can be the most fun thing to do in weekend. I know writing can be beneficial as coping mechanism skills, people can write journal may help them to release stress or anxiety, sports are another factor or even praying. Currently I mostly do yoga, meditations and playing guitar. I know stress is very hard to feel or even mange sometimes. Fortunately, there are many ways to manage stress early stages to avoid any  future negative consequences may occur.

Women and Menopause in India

Blog#2

Women and Menopause in India

I decided to choose option number four and talking about menopause that women experience in India.
Many women will experience menopause changes prior in their last "perimenopause". The menopause age will not affect by age of woman or pregnancy or even taking birth control medication. Many studies showed that women who smokes at the early stages of their life will experience menopause two years earlier than women who don’t smoke. The ages that women experience the menopause between age 46 and above.
There is a great variation in experiences women menopause in the world. Women will have many common biologically and physically changes due to the changes in hormone’s fluctuations in estrogen that women can experience during that time.
According to the articles (health issue menopause,2012.) that I read about menopause changes that women can have in India, there is different health issues in menopause in India. The issues seemed to be different from one area to another and that’s due the level of education and health care accessibility in these areas. In addition, women hesitated to talk about it or even refused to go to the clinic to do the normal yearly checkup. For example, in Delhi even the level of education is not too bad in these areas, but it seems to be an issue there also.
The articles focused on women’s perspectives, the majority of women in India specifically in North India experienced in the region. Education is very important factor to understand the changes and who to deal with all upcoming changes women need to have and how to balance the lifestyle. Biologically speaking and according to the article women need to increase the Calcium intake because women will have “Osteopenia” which is the weakness in bones. Therefore; increasing the Calcium is very significant. In India and due to the religious aspect women seems to be suffering from the Thyroid and Hypothyroid disorder.
As conclusion, it is very normal to see different perspectives that some women have, due to many factors one of them cultural background, religion views and the type of lifestyle. It is very necessary to encourage women to have health screening with nutritional supplementation, exercise, adequate sunshine and sleep time can be emphasized in all menopausal women.

Women World Wide

BLOG 1

One thing I wasn’t sure about until I read and search the materials that  more than 2/3 women in the world is illiterate didn’t receive enough education. Education, schools and learning is very essential for women’s life and for society to reduce the violence and any other problems in the society. Unfortunately, still higher percentage of women in the world didn’t get their opportunity to receive enough education especially in Third World countries lack to any sources of education.

The accomplishment that I admired in women is the existence of women in politics and women’s development. Women can exist anywhere in the world not only at home to rise children. We can find women practice in politics, business almost anywhere in the world. Although there is some unfair and inequality towards women which can make a lot of pressure foe women to improve themselves and emphasis on their existence in the society.

My opinion about global women’s health now, and according to the information and materials that I read I feel there still lack of education and access to the health care, I believe women still need to go long way to improve themselves to the world especially in Third World countries . For example, more than 50% of women still affected in chronic diseases like HIV. I believe most of chronic diseases still need more attention to reduce the number of the  cases in parts of the world.
Thanks!
Inam Al-Ibrahim.

Introduction

Hi Everyone,
My name is Inam Al-Ibrahim, I’m health studies major Public Health student at TWU in Denton, Tx. I’m a mother I have four years son and I also expecting baby girl coming up on October 2019. Little about my background I’m senior cultural adviser with US Army since 2004. I worked with military especially with army and travel with them almost everywhere, therefore I been in different unexpected countries, cities around the world. Honestly although my job is very tough and hard for women but when I’m think about it I feel very grateful to be around heroes living and sharing stories with them.
I find the topics health and sciences are very interesting to me since I was in higher school student. I took so many science classes especially biology because Anatomy and sciences in general are very fun to learn. My future/goal is to graduate and continue in grades school to get my Master’s and PHD in health studies. I love to work in health care sitting because I love to be surrounded with people and making friends.
Thinking about women’s health in general specifically women’s physiology is very fascinating. Simply women’s body can go through so many changing during woman’s life. When I look to different cultures, I haven exposed due to my work before or even right now I can see the diversity of views towards women’s role in society now. Cultures beliefs, traditions and people’s background all these factors may build a good barrier against woman’s success especially if we talk about immigrant women or women overseas. My point is that women can be affected by cultural beliefs and social opinions so easily. Women can represent the essential factor of life. For years, women have been proven that they are not only a tool for bringing up children, but they are one of the beneficial sources in society. I feel so empowered when I see women in different spots of the society. I know is very hard task in a woman to be in the society where men have the majority of it like military but at the same time, we had proven for so many years that we can be any where in the world. We can be a great mothers and wives, businesswomen, professors, doctors, nurses and political ranks. I hope in the future women in everywhere will take care of their health and hopefully the world will protect and respect woman’s roles and views with open-minded not just in Unites States but in whole world.
